Thanks to the sponsorship of Newlab and Ford’s Michigan Central and the additional aid of the Michigan Mobility Fund, we’ve been able to add multiple layers of accessible information to the Lazarillo app in high-traffic neighborhoods across Detroit, including Corktown, Midtown, Mexicantown, and Downtown, giving users the ability to navigate accessibly with access to more information on local businesses, increased accuracy on streets and intersections, and even access to public transit routes from multiple services including DDOT, Smart, Q-Line, and PeopleMover.

Lazarillo partnered with Lyft and Biketown in Portland, Oregon to make the streets safer for people with disabilities by adding bike share parking locations to the Lazarillo app as well as an intuitive and accessible reporting system, allowing pedestrians to report dangerous misparked bikes directly to Biketown through the Lazarillo app.
